ABOUT
The AWESCOPE is a site-reactive prismatic video sculpture. The sculpture explores how deviating from the standard planar rectangular form of video media can expand and specialize how the content is understood. AWESCOPE treats video as if it were a simple mutable material, such as paper, bending and folding it with ease and formal purpose.
AWESCOPE is the second apparatus within the Scopes series, which also includes Cubic Microscope and Vantage Condensate. AWESCOPE resonated deeply with JJest’s core artistic thesis and launched other series as lines of studio inquiry, including the PlatFORMs and Videogami.
The original prototype AWESCOPE I was decommissioned after documentation, however the video sculpture has been reimagined for a limited run of 10.
